TRAILS IN BUSAN
One of the most beautiful ways to see and enjoy the scenery of Busan is through roads and trails like the Haeparang, Galmaet-gil, and Dalmaji-gil. Being a coastal city, the trails stretch along seas, rivers, mountains, skyscrapers, villages and more.
Haeparang Trail is a 770km coastal trail that follows the Haeparang Trail entire eastern coastline of South Korea. From Goseong in Gangwon-do Province to Busan, the trail is divided into 50 courses, of which 4 (73.7km) are in Busan. Course 1 passes through Gwangalli Beach and Haeundae Beach, the 2 major beaches of Busan. Course 2 begins at Mipo and continues to Cheongsapo and on to Daebyeonhang Port. Beach is also called “Dalmaji-gil Road (Moontan Road)” and is known for its nightscape. The hilly road on Wausan Mountain is lined with cozy coffee shops and galleries. The 278.8km Galmaet-gil Trail was named after Busan’s famous galmaegi, or seagull. The 9 courses of the Galmaet-gil Trail walk along the coast and through rivers, mountains, hot springs and villages of the city. Course 2-2 is a scenic coastal trail that visits Igidae Urban Nature Park and the Oryukdo Skywalk, and known as the “river breeze & sunset glow trail,” Course 4-3 walks along beaches, rivers, forests and beautiful sunset spots including Dadaepo Beach. Courses can take from 2 to 8 hours, and those who get stamps of all the courses, can get a souvenir.
