HISTORISCHE DÖRFER IN KOREA: HAHOE & YANGDONG
Founded in the Joseon Dynasty (1392–1910), Andong Hahoe Village and Gyeongju Yangdong Village are the two most representative historic clan villages in Korea. The thatched-roof houses, houses of the upper class, pavilions, Confucian academies, and other traditional structures in the villages are of great cultural and historical value. Hahoe is a riverside village hugged by the Nakdonggang River, while Yangdong is a mountain village nestled amid ridges and valleys.
