GWANGJU & JEOLLANAM-DO
As the host city of the Gwangju Biennale, an international art exhibition, Gwangju is an “art & culture” city home to many cultural relics. There are many awe-inspiring natural tourist attractions such as hundreds of big and small islands that speckle the southern coast, Suncheonman Bay, which has been recognized by the Ramsar Convention, and the Boseong green tea plantations that spans the mountainside. The area is great for food tours, as its food is so famous that there is even a nickname for the province’s food, “Nam-do food,” meaning southern food.
